- Yoga Challenges: Try following yogis on Instagram, Facebook, or other forms of social media to see how they are challenging themselves each month. It’s a cool way to connect with other yogis, and sometimes the challenges are for a good cause! One challenge hosted by @kinoyoga and @beachyogagirl was used to raise money for a scholarship to study yoga in India. Plus, I find it motivates me to have a more consistent yoga practice like other opera singers such as Jonas Kaufmann.
- Leg Challenges- Wall Sit or Squats: Try adding these to the end of your leg day for an extra burn! Plus, it can be a nice way to accentuate that booty! Cosmopolitan hosted a butt challenge over Snapchat that took the world by storm! Find one that you like on social media and get to squattin’!
- Arm Challenges- Tricep Dips or Plank: A great way to train your arms and core is by doing planks. The world record for holding a plank is 5 HOURS, 15 minutes, and 15 seconds by the former Marine George Hood. Just say that you’re training to break the next world record!
- Pushup Challenges: I like to put this challenge into a completely different category. There are so many ways to train pushups based on how many you can do or how long you can hold the pushup position before coming back up. There are even pushup challenges to train muscle fatigue or amount of reps. Take your pick as to which skill you’d like to improve.
